Went back out to the same area as Thursday night with a lite load. It was beautiful out there. Got set up and caught right away. Had two other partyboats as company. As the night progressed the Squid got thick around the boat. Grandson remembered his Squid gear and caught um up. We chummed a few Chubb Mackerel, caught a Lobster, a keeper Pollack, some Ling, keeper Seabass, and a bunch of Squid. Tim M. had 6 Ling, 2 Keeper Seabass , and over a dozen Squid. Most people took home fillets/Squid.
I was frustrated because around half the customers had spinning tackle that is too light for bottom fishing. IF the rod can't handle 8-12 oz of lead than leave it home or fish Squid with it. The rods were so spongy they could touch their rod tips lifting the sinkers off the bottom highsticking. Why not pay the extra money to use the rental equipment they already have $80.00 invested. Some people just don't listen.
Grandson is cooking lunch ! Nothing like seafood and a nap.

Pete, a Boat I won't name, and a well loved Capt, wouldn't let Me on, cause I didn't bring SPINNING GEAR. He knew Me very well, and often asked Family members why I didn't Tag along, anymore. Don't tell ME how to fish.
AND, I agree spinning gear isn't worth nuthin, when you need above 40# line.
