Well, it's almost that time once again boy's & girls......Capt. Dan & Joe are putting the finishing touches on the Fishermen painting her from top to bottom.

Depending on the weather we should be ready to go the second weekend in April. Let's hope the Striper fishing picks up where it left off in the fall.

The Big question is what's going to happen to the Fare? Believe me, I get it and will try to work the numbers the best I can but the Diesel right now at $4.60 and still going higher with no end in sight who knows.

Yes, I want to stay in business, No, I do NOT want to gouge my customers and I'm sure folks will complain, some may just stop fishing as this will be the last straw for them and maybe for me also. Time will tell.

For now let's hope things get better, the Sun comes out, everyone stays healthy and the Fish bite!! See you soon.....

Capt Ron,

Not to worry. When the 2022 recreational fluke regulations come out I've heard from a credible source the possession limit is going to revert back to 10 fish a day like the good old days. Unfortunately marine fisheries is planning on increasing the size minimum to 28 inches so we'll just have to see how things work out.

In all seriousness, I hope this Russian / Ukraine conflict is resolved, if not it will have enormous global impacts. At the same time, our own government isn't helping this industry with their status quo myopic management philosophies. Think they re-coined the phrase "If it's not broke, don't fix it" to "If it's broke, don't fix it".

I feel for you Ron..
Diesel went to 5.39 last night on local roadways .
And currently there is no end in site .
.
Wish I could go to sleep and wake up to the world we grew up in .
This new world isn’t what it’s cracked up to be .

A year and 1/2 ago the US was energy independent. How much was diesel then?

You've got to be an old timer...

Sad thing is, I have the same memories. Doubt we'll ever see that kind of fishing again...
