Well it blew 20-30 due north all day , as well as a supposedly "freezing cold" 57 degrees as I predicted back in November when we booked our trip to Florida. Knowing this we booked a trip to fish the mangroves & rich peoples docks with the salty foot out of st. lucie. Devon just wanted to catch as many species as she could & get those #bites & for once it wasn't about filling the freezer it was about fun! Capt. Randy had us on insane ultralight drag pulling action all day. We caught mangrove snapper, mutton snapper, lane snapper, pin fish, lady fish, jack crevalle, atlantic blowfish, black drum, hard head catfish, sheepshead, speckled sea trout, checkered blowfish, & blue runner. We went through 15 dozen live shrimp! If any of yall are down south & want to have a fun action filled day this is the way to go. I highly recommend it especially for kids or new anglers, we did an 8hr trip but capt also does 4 which wouldve been plenty of time as well. Boats fast and comfy, took 2ft chop with ease & capt is a sweetheart of a guy. He gets the jmurr stamp of approval Took devs limit of mangroves & my 1 keeper to a local restaurant for dinner & they were amazing! Was perfect valentines day

Glad you made the best of it. The wind down here sucks this time of year. I leave my big boat home because of it.

Inter-coastal fishing is fun and non-stop down here. I am in West Palm on my third week of kayak fishing. 4 dozen live shrimp will last me about 3 hours. I tried for peacock bass twice and lost one on top. Hopefully I get one before I leave. Thanks for sharing.

Steve is that your profession in Florida, an airboat operator, or a hobby. If profession, do you give tours or is there hunting / fishing involved. Always wondered what it felt like on one, certainly looks very cool and imagine it's a real adrenaline rush.

My profession. I’ve been doing tours for almost six years now. Take folks to see the gators and stuff. I have been gator hunting but don’t guide for a living. I can hook you up though.

Driving the airboats is like driving a nascar on water. It is a blast and I get paid to do it :)

Wind has been blowing a bit in Key West as well. Too many boats not leaving their berths.

Steve sounds like a lot of fun, definitely a bucket list item. Glad you found something you enjoy as a livelihood. As the saying goes, find something you enjoy doing and you'll never work a day in your life. Personally I'm still trying to figure that one out!
