I'm looking for recommendations for cold-weather fishing gloves. They need to be waterproof for cutting up crabs and handling fish as well as offer some warmth. Thanks.

I buy a box of viper brand nitrile gloves from Lowe’s. Just enough to cut wind and keep dry w/o loosing sensitivity/ think windbreaker for hands....

I second the nitrile glove approach. I use the 7 mil gloves from Harbor Freight. More heavy duty but still let’s you feel the slightest touch. Keeping hands dry from crabs and releasing fish helps a lot. You can also squeeze a hand warmer packet inside the palm.

I have the Glaciers and like them but my hands still get cold party because the gloves are usually cold when I decide to put my cold hands in them and this is where those hand warmer packets work well. Put one in each palm of the glove and leave them in there when you're not wearing the gloves.

Although I wouldn't try it with a plastic or latex glove, if you're on a on a boat with a microwave, pop the gloves in for 30 seconds, or if the boat has heat, hang them close to the vents to warm them up.

My gripe with nitrile gloves is that they make my hands sweat, which then makes them very cold quickly. I buy vinyl-palmed, knit work gloves from Home Depot, and cut the fingers off. Far from perfect, but workable.

Used to love when party boats ran the steam through the rails .
Didn’t have to dress as warm , and never had to wear gloves at all .

.
When it’s really cold I wear STORMR gloves , rest of the time I found fingerless wool gloves to be pretty good .

I wonder about that often.. Years ago a lot of boats had heated rails.. Winter fishing?- Never an issue with your hands getting too cold... Nowadays, everything is bigger, better newer, and high tech is the norm, and heated rails are as rare as hens teeth.. I wonder why?.... bob

The plumbing a chore. They run engine discharge water to them. SO they have to be plumbed into the boat discharge. A LOT of complication to set up to each hand rail section.
