Take it for what it’s worth but the season will close on Dec. 31st. No, not on the ocean side, but if you fish in the bay, it will close. Most boats will be hauled out by then but some guys may still want to fish from the rivers or bay shores.

After watching Mario’s video of the bass and bunkers back by his boat ( Down Deep ) it seems the bunkers don’t want to leave. That means the bass don’t want to go either. That phenomenon can likely last through December. If it does, guys will want to go after them. The CO’s will have a field day.

Don’t put your waders away if you surf fish along the Monmouth and Ocean County beaches. The bait that is still all over the back bays has to come out sometime. You might be fishing along the beaches well into the new year.

Calm down, it's only the middle of November. Alot can happen in a month and a half. All it takes is one snowstorm to shut it down. Just take advantage of the good fishing while you can.

You are absolutely correct. It’s what I should have said. Take advantage of the fishing as it is now. There are still fish being caught even farther up the bay and into the Raritan River. I don’t think they will be leaving anytime soon. The water temps are still very tolerable for the bass but the bait will always keep them snapping. We will have very little info as the number of fishermen drops off but it doesn’t mean the bass will be gone. It’s very likely the bass and bait will still be around at the end of the season.

By January only the Rats will be left in the surf and backwaters. It’s never been an issue before..
