Every PB along the coast that fishes for stripers has bonus tags........lots of them. The customers don't even have to apply for the tags. Everyone can go home with a meal. It's good for business and brings fishermen back onboard for a return trip hopefully.

Bonus tags allow possession of 1 additional fish 24-28”.

Here I was thinking the size limit was 28" regardless, so this is type of a "slot" fish then ???

Bill and Gumada, didn't realize the bonus tag was 24" to 28". Good to know and think that's a great idea. Thanks for posting.

I thought when you used a bonus tag you had to fill out all kinds of information and mail it back in, is this correct ???

Hey Andy, This discussion is getting lost in this thread. You might get a little more shared information by starting another thread on this topic. I do know that individuals who receive a bonus tag also receive a fishing log to complete and return which asks for data such as when and how you fished; how many stripers you did or did not catch as well as sizes.

Maybe one of the PB captains can tell us how it works from their end.

I’ll post the question in another thread.
