The day started out perfect with great weather, an awesome group of guys all anticipating a good Striper Bite.

Sadly on the First Drift one of my long time customers Lynn Fair, 74, passed away. We rushed to the Coast Guard station and everyone did all they could do, to no avail.

Accompanied by his best buddy Joe right to the end. Lynn was an avid Fishermen & Hunter, he also owned a kennel with his wife Sunny. They raised and trained many dogs in their life. His passion will certainly be missed and our hearts are broken once again. Fair winds my friend.

To say the wind was taken out of my sails is an under statement as the rest of the day was horrible as far as the fishing goes. Covered a whole bunch of area's, found plenty of bait but the Bass were a NO-SHOW today. Managed only 2 keepers.

Back at it tomorrow. Rest in Peace Lynn.

Wow capt that's terrible...
I have only heard stories about medical emergencies out at sea
Never experienced them when I have been on a vessel let alone a death at the rails
RIP
The striper GODS will he good to you tomorrow

Very sorry to hear. I think most of us would want to go the same way.

A sad day indeed, RIP Lynn, your last wish was granted with fellow fisherman. If we have to go as fisherman, that is the way to pass on.

Bitter sweet. never wanna see anyone you like go.

But I would rather die ( if I have to) doing what a love. Not in some god damn hospital surrounded by mostly strangers.

Perhaps Lynn won his biggest pool ever yesterday? We will find out for ourselves later. :(

Sorry for your loss Captain Ron and I can't imagine how his friend Joe felt
during and after this tragic episode.
You are a true professional Sir.
May Lynn rest in peace.

As others have already said, very sorry for your loss and harrowing experience. It's a situation none of us ever want to be in but you did all you could under the most stressful of circumstances. Condolences and prayers for everyone on board yesterday, Coast Guard, first responders and mostly friends and family of the deceased. May your friend rest in peace.

Although I've never met you Capt Ron or even heard you speak, I feel as if I hear your voice in every report you post. In this report I hear tremendous sadness. But like others said he most likely went the way he would chose. I'm sorry for your loss.
