Islander II

If you ain’t first, you’re last did not apply this time. We decided with the weather report to head to one location and pound it until we couldn’t anymore. Well, within the first 5 minutes on the first drift, Bachman nails a nice one bouncing the boga around 10-11. Usually the kiss of death. Within an hour of that I hooked another nice one under the boat bouncing between 9-10. Drift starting picking up and right before we decided to deploy the sock Chris puts a 6-7 in the net. Wound up after that putting 8 more keepers in the box. We decided we over stayed our welcome there and took the unpleasant ride back to the bay to finish out the tournament. We then headed to the scales to be the second to last boat to weigh in. We had 2nd place in the tournament, 2 combined biggest fish and 3 combined biggest fish in the calcutta division. We were happy with that not know the payouts until we went to the fire house. 2nd place paid $767, 2 biggest paid $2880 and the 3 biggest paid $4590 for a total of $ 8237. For all that know the story behind the Islander II, this was a sentimental win for us! We decided to donate the 2nd place winnings back to the firehouse as this is our hometown fire house. Thanks again Community Fire Co for putting together a great tournament. And a big congratulations to all who placed and fished!
