My father caught this shark while we were fluke fishing. Pops thought it was a doggie until we saw those chompers. Was wondering what species it is?

A little hard to say but defiantly not a doggie, I’d say Blue Shark.

You guys probably know more about shark ID than I do, but my first thought was a juvenile sandbar/brown.

Agreed. The rounded tip on the dorsal fin is different compared to the Blacktip which is more pointed.

Looks like a spinner shark to me. Water is the right temp for them too.
Good action on a fluke rod, for sure.

Looks like a spinner. Could be a blacktip but the fin looks a bit off.
