Entertained family (re:non fishing :D) for 2 days so had to keep it close to home.

7/4 - Reach, TC, Knoll and Officers Row. Picked everywhere. Shallow sucked. Over 20 FOW best. Loads of shorts managed 2 over 18 for the table.

7/5 - ventured further north towards VZ then Coney Flats and Rockaway. Same MO with shorts and just over keepers.

Water dirty in close, cleaner to the north. Surface temps 72 up to 77 late day. Pink/White Gulp 5” grubs worked best. No dogs or skates at all (surprised after hearing guys at the dock) Cocktail blues tearing up rigs both days. Fish I cleaned all had empty stomachs. Bunker pods spread out all over not being harassed.

Slow cruise home and ran over some promising bottom I have to go back and investigate this week solo.

👍

We had fairly clean water where we were yesterday (off of Northen Monmouth County)-just had little to no drift.

Hey Duff...it was nice seeing you at the fillet table yesterday again. We were out in the ocean....amazingly clean water and no drift most of the day. Had a couple fatties ourselves but nothing great.

Good talking to ya Bill. Good luck in the tourney this coming weekend. Hopefully Elsa blows thru here quick!
