Thoughts on Sea Bass Opener?

Recommendations on which port to sail from on the opener for best results?
Highlands, Belmar or Pt Pleasant? Thanks in advance 👍

It really doesn’t make much difference. If they are biting, pretty much most wrecks will be productive. Good news, ling fishermen have been catching them for a couple of weeks. This means that they are heading inshore on schedule.
Personally, I like to wait a couple of days before heading out. The boats tend to be packed on opening day (at least pre pandemic), with lots of novice anglers. Get a ripping current, and you end up with tangles galore.
