Maine stripers are coming...Alewife flooding Damariscotta Ladder!

Still no stripers, but it should be less than three weeks given the fish ladder in Damariscotta is filling up with Alewife.

I had some friends up there in Newcastle. Sadly they passed away some time ago. I fished there a few times. Your post brought back alot of memories.

Agreed. But there’s always some kind of bait swimming down the Damariscotta. We see some sort of little herring in August in the coves. The 24” stripers love them.

I, ashamed to say it but I e never been there in August, I will this year 5anms for the top. Two years ago huge shad were separating g the pool it was beautiful to watch
