We got the boat out today near Forked River. Started fishing the outgoing around noon and the Flatties were biting until the south wind came up and the action ended. Blood and garden worms got the bites nothing on clam and mussels. Water temp was around 55 degrees.

Hi Gerry. It was nice to see some in an area that has been unproductive for us for some time. Timing and location is important for Flounder, we just didn't time it right to put a good catch together. The way this fishery has been I'm thankful for any we can get.

I hear you Brew... I know some sharpies when they get trapped inside this time of year and can't go out the inlet do pretty well in certain spots.

Would be great to get this fishery back to where it once was. I remember when I was new to fishing saltwater and my buddy Phil got his drivers license. We'd save up for weeks and when we had enough money for gas for the car, the boat rental and some bait, off we went.

We'd drive down to Manasquan, rent a boat at Chapman's Landing and fish the stretch of the river from the north end of the canal to the bridge. We did pretty well every time we went and it was a mix of Flounder and Fluke drifting Sandworms.

Simpler times back then for sure and the Parkway tolls were only 10 cents.

Just caught myself sounding like an old fart :D
