Hey guys, i left my house around 7:30 and got there at 9:00. My hopes were high but my expectations were low because my dad told me that wild browns are hard fish to catch. on my fifth cast i caught this troutzilla, sadly it was the only fish i caught but i was so excited over the fact that i got one this big!

superb! Big and healthy brown. To me looks like a wild fish too.
Welcome to the board btw, are you shucker's son? looks like both of you are master trout anglers :D

Yes! What a first post! You got the right one if that's the only one you hooked.

Great catch, and welcome aboard!

Thanks man, its the first brown trout ive ever caught (i think) and one of the biggest trout ive caught in general so it was definitely a memorable one. words cant describe how happy i was when i realized it wasnt a snag lmao

Little_shucker, i got into fishing similarly. Dad introduced it to me at a young age but it was only years later that I picked it up on my own. Helps to steal some of his gear to start off with lol :D I did. That's a phenomenal first of a trout and no doubt you'll be catching many more. I hope to fish with you sometime!

I'm amazed at that brown. The best I've done about the Claremont is write about it; I openly confess I've caught no trout there and have fished it only once. A trout did peg one of my streamer flies, but I missed the hit. It's great to hear such a story. Five casts and wham! Fantastic.
