My son Jason & I fished aboard a NS today targeting striped bass. Although we each caught our first bass on metal jigs (Red tailed A27 and a 4 ounce Crippled Herring respectively)-the jig bite was slow. We each caught a few more on a 7” Bill Hurley Sandeel. Made a over to a different area and we noticed bass rolling and busting bunker and herring on top. I tied on a Daiwa SP Minnow while Jason went with a Zara Super Spook XT. From there it was game on. Almost every cast resulted in either a hook up, blow up or follow by multiple bass. We each caught @ 20 bass ranging from 20-35”s

Bites of the day;

-My first bass with the SP...saw it tracking the plug all the way back to the boat, stopped the retrieve gave it a slight twitch and the bass inhaled it..Result 31” bass

-Jason and I were talking while he was working the Spook back and all then sudden we both heard this gulping sound and we both witnessed a bass slurp down the plug-Result 32” bass.
