I’ve recently started using baitrunner fishing reels, and they took some time to get used to, but I like them. Unfortunately, I’m really hard on them. They aren’t cheap, I was wondering if someone could recommend a reliable baitrunner that can stand the impact of surf fishing?

Here’s a catch with one.

The Shimano baitrunner that I have is reliable but requires cleaning and maintenance. When I was bait fishing the surf back in the day I used conventional reels , Penn 980, Penn Sqiudder which is bulletproof and Shimano Calcutta which I still use for throwing heavy lures on big surf days. For me conventional is the way to go for bait fishing.
