Hit the SR Inlet yesterday looking to catch my first blackfish and mission accomplished! No size whatsoever, but feels good when you go in with a game plan and it works out. I'm sure I missed a bunch of takes I could've set the hook on and one definitely took a jig into the rocks that broke off never to be seen again, but a good way to learn. Also, thanks to Fisherman's Den Belmar for the greenies! Also, before someone comments on how I handled it, the sand was blown onto the inlet rocks yesterday with the 20+mph winds leaving little real estate to unhook...wasn't my intention to make a tog cutlet out of it but **it happens. Darted right back down to the bottom when it hit the water, so I'm sure not too much harm done.
