What he said. there are plenty of fish around albeit they are moving and we have wind coming. I have never subscribed to a front killing the fishery in Sept.
If they kept the season open longer there are fish to be had storms or not

Shows how little you have fished late season since Sandy .
Those great October runs are a thing of the past .
.
Change in the fishery from a week ago until Tuesday of this week shows quite a few have moved out .(Reason you’re trip had such a long run recently )
. .
Only takes one storm in September and 95% of the fish say see ya next year .

NO they are ALL chasing those moving fish , not sitting in areas just hoping to find fish. Putting in extra miles to stay on them.
.But im also not going to sugar coat bullshit like some here try to do

Fished Monday and Tuesday this past week had 2 good trips. All fish caught in35-45 feet of water within 4 miles north of Shark River.

This vessel can handle the big seas this week. There's plenty of room to fish without crowding. While it's not a sponsor boat, we all sponsor it with our taxes. As for the weather and if it will chase the fish out, I'm guessing that when the seabass season reopens, we will still be releasing fluke.

Love this site. Great people, common interests but we can argue about anything. Human nature I guess. There's a week left in the season and fluke are gearing up for their hundred mile migration to their wintering grounds. They're feeding heavy and they're moving everyday. Where you found them today more likely than not you won't find them tomorrow. But there somewhere and they're going to be chewing because they have to.
There's three things I know. This is the best big fish time of year. Second the captain's on this site know their s*** and they know where they have to go to follow the migrating schools otherwise they wouldn't be in business for long. Third at the end of the day if I don't get a hit I still had an enjoyable day on the water. At the same time the whole trip I'll be thinking about that one hit where you feel that thump, set the hook, the rod doubles over, you feel that monster headshake that can only mean one thing and then line is peeling off the reel. The hit and hopefully trophy dormat you land you'll never forget.
Fish move north, they move south, sometimes they move south and then turn around follow the bait back north but eventually they're going to be heading east.
If you want a chance at a fish of a lifetime and the last chance to fish for fluke this season there's no reason not to go. Have confidence the captain's in the ports we sail from know enough about where the fish are and will try their best to put you on them. I've never had a day on the water, even if it was accompanied by an empty cooler when I got off the boat, that wasn't better than a day spent on land or at the office.
