ALL:
I have a friend who will be staying in the Nags Head/Kitty Hawk, NC area next week on vacation. He’s looking to hop on a charter boat (6 pk.) and do some fishing. Not interested in a party boat. Anyone have suggestions for a charter boat/Captain that I can give him? Thanks in advance! Tight Lines!

Plenty of good boats sailing out of Wanchese which is just south of Kitty Hawk/Nags Head.
Have him call the marina office and get on what they call a make up charter (which is the equivalent to what we call an open boat charter)

If he wants billfish I would recommend either Pelican or Bi-Op-Sea. Both out of Oregon Inlet. Probably both already book solid, but worth the call. Both great Captains and Mates.
Offshore trip will run about $2000 for the day plus tip.

Let Kurt know that September is white marlin season at Oregon Inlet. You can’t eat flags. But you’ll never forget teasing a white marlin off the dredge. Be sure to ask if mahi / dolphin is in the charter plan or just a bycatch candidate.

You can also try Pirates Cove Marina in Manteo. Obsession would be a good choice. Good luck .

If your buddy doesn't want to spring for a full-blown offshore trip, you can check out Beach Bum Sportfishing. He runs a center console out of Oregon Inlet, and fishes the sound and nearshore for trout (weakfish), red drum, cobia, etc. on light tackle. I've fished with him a number of times, good fisherman and he is hilarious.
