So I am torn on a new rod choice. I like a Fast action for reds and (freshwater) bass because I use a strong, swift hookset. With trout, I tend to let them have it a little longer and I set the hook less aggressively so I don't yank the hook out of their mouth. I am thinking a moderate action in a Medium or MH would slow down the force of the hookset and be advantageous. Any thoughts or advice on this?
