Sunday morning, we fished east of Shark River Inlet on the hills and had great blue fishing jigging a lot of 2-3 lb blues. It was nice to see some bigger blues with some mackerel in the mix. The last hour of the day we tried for sea bass and ling but the bottom fishing was slow. Overall, it was a great day with blues and mackerel. Our pool winner was Marvin from Morristown, NJ.
Sunday afternoon, fishing was very slow. We picked a few sea bass and ling on each drop. We read the fish, however, they did not want to bite. Our pool winner was Robert McGrath from Morristown, NJ.
This morning, we had excellent fishing for mackerel with some blues mixed in. They bit right away this morning and then died out midday. We then went out bottom fishing for sea bass and ling the last half of the day. The sea bass did not cooperate even though, at times, we had great readings.
