Knowing the bite slowed a bit in the Hudson, we decided to make a run further south to the Spencer. Left the inlet at 12:15 AM - Arrived to the grounds by 4:30 - had to run very slow because there was DENSE fog for the entire 90 mile run. Had to rely heavily on radar the entire trip in and trip back. We basically rode 220 NM in dense fog. It was chilly and wet out there. There were 4 boats fishing the Spencer and I dont think anyone caught a thing out there.
Spotted what we believed was a ton of squid deep and that was about it. Very little to no life. Marked fist a few times at about 120' but they never surfaced. Back to the barn in 3 hours w/no fish by 2:30PM. Barely a temperature break at all - consistent 73.5 to 74.5 out there. Had the right spread, ballys, etc. Nada. Maybe Wednesday's storm will mix things up some.
