Hit MI early in the morning on Saturday. With 8:30 peak high, I thought fishing the incoming would be a good move. Left the house at 4:30am and pulled up at just after 5:30. there were already lots of people fishing (curse you long drive, the locals are lucky!!) but there was still plenty of room. I didn't have a particular species in mind, so I brought a little bit of everything to throw out there.

An hour went by with no action on metals, bucktails, or plugs. I switched back to a metal after looking for fluke for awhile, and right as i looked up from finishing the knot a guy down the jetty pulled out a cocktail blue. Iquickly casted out the deadly dick and got one on the first cast back. I caught another one 2 casts later.

But that was it! Action was slow, and I did not see many other people catching anything. Few doggies from the bait soakers, a few other blues, but once that school left it was dead. I left around 9:30 for the long drive home. Great morning on the water regardless! Tight lines all!

Better action than I had on Saturday evening.

I fished SRI at the same tidal stage I fished it 2 days prior when I had steady action—-all I could do Saturday was 1 hickory shad in 3 hours.

I didn’t get a hit at Dog Beach Friday afternoon but the fisherman to my left caught and released 3 bluefish on a red and white popper.
