It might be a long shot but from what I read Murphy did that so he can get money from the federal government with restrictions. It’s not listed what the restrictions will be ( I think Murphy is making it up as he goes along) but belmar boardwalk and beach are opening up this weekend without the need for face protection unless your in the bathroom.. so things are still opening under these restrictions... hopefully charter and party boats soon to follow. Some hope.

I agree man it sucks... I mean if this guy is waiting to re-open when there are zero deaths... we will be in a deep depression and how many businesses will be ruined and families on the streets because they can’t pay their bills... what the quality of life there?

This whole thing is a joke, don't get me wrong it is a 100% evil virus, it's out there, it's true we all know it, but the fact that they can segregate business as being essential or not makes what sense. So 200 people could go to Walmart, Target, Lowes or supermarket and that's ok, but a small business not saying a charter boat, a legitimate brick-and-mortar place of business cannot be open or allow anyone in there because apparently that's where the virus is spread, not in Walmart among the 200 customers. You mean to tell me a small business is not more sanitary than a big box store.
Liquor stores are essential, why because the state taxes the crap out of alcohol and that's the only income it's getting.
All of a sudden it's okay to start opening beaches and boardwalks, why because Memorial Day is around the corner and the state needs money.
The virus is changing daily as well as what we can and cannot do Nobody Knows the answer.
I'm a front line employee, I see it everyday it's out there but the news has us all brainwashed, they're slowly taking our freedom away, we are letting them do it and we are doing nothing about it so mabey Gerry has a point about Civil unrest.
We can go on about this for hours but it will get us nowhere .

Rock, meet hard place. It's not a fun situation. Theres two scenarios here. Keep doing what the state requires and suppress the virus or go all in, open things up and allow for herd immunity to do its thing. We're all frustrated. I'm furloughed. But I know many others have it way worse than I do.

Humans as a species have allowed for herd immunity to do its thing bc they ultimately lacked the science and technology to eradicate disease like we did with polio and to an extent, the measles. Build immunity and survive or die. Insane levels of hygienic behavior isnt a long term positive. Exposure is, but theres fear that comes with exposure. Namely, and selfishly, I have 3 kids. They need me. I'm only 37 with no underlying conditions but I'm one in nine million.

The opening of parks and golf courses was a little test. I think as a state we passed. Murphys additional 30 day lock down is an effort to secure more money for the state. Is it just? Probably not. Will the potential funds aid in assisting the businesses that are hurting? Possibly.

Once this all ends, which I hope is sooner rather than later, I plan on doing 3 trips with the party boats still afloat this summer. It isnt a lot, but it's what I can do as an individual. And I'll likely take my son. So theres 6 fares.

Civil unrest can work if done orderly. But can you count on it being orderly and not putting the good apples in a shitty situation?

My primary concern is Fauci and the other heads of medicine leading the charge. They stink of greased pockets and profits via vaccination while we all suffer. Check out the below before it's taken down...

I don't say much but I have been fishing for 55 years in Belmar point area. I went threw college working on the six man charter boats. The captains we have now on the boats are careful and the mates top notch. They will do everything they have to to stay safe and keep their customers happy people on the party boats . Limit the Fish all around the boat I know the boat i fish on always tried to fish one side so the drift was good. I understand the distance thing and would fish all around so these guys can make a living LETS GO FISHING

You got that right. And after the damage is done, the panic they raised just like with Russia Gate will be shown to be a fraud but they will slink away to start another crisis. Keep in mind that they ACTUALLY REQUIRED THAT INFECTED PEOPLE GO INTO NURSING HOMES WHERE THEY KNEW THE HEALTHY GET KILLED and that nursing home deaths appear to account for the majority of deaths.
