From today's press conference; NJ State Trooper superintendent Callahan reported that there was " overwhelming compliance" with social distancing, etc at the State and County parks over the weekend. The Governor indicated that it was encouraging. He also indicated that he may not close local beaches as they did in California and Fla but may limit the state's involvement to issuing guidelines to the local communities to make their own decisions.
Bradley Beach, by the way, opened their boardwalk today. Their beach was already open
Belmar's beach is open but there is no parking and no open boardwalk. Same in Spring Lake and ,I think, Avon.
I visited Fisherman's Cove, a county park on the Manasquan River just west of the Inlet today. Beautiful weather and only a handful of people at 8 am.
Inlet walkway and parking are closed . Both Manasquan and Pt. Beach were not permitting fishing at the inlet.
