Took the boat out yesterday with the mate, had to leave our first spot, sharks moved in on us couldn't get any fish past them. Rumor has it they may open up the beaches down here tonight. Hang in there !

Captain Rich,
Stay safe and thanks for the reports. The did reopen the beaches at 5 pm and Fla. reported the largest single day increase of new cases, 1,400 plus and up over 600 from the day before. Social distancing was supposed to be adhered to, if you look at pictures of the beaches it looked more like spring break. As states start liberalizing stay at home restrictions, going to be alot of eyes on new cases. We see a dramatic rise it's going to be difficult if not impossible to go back to lock down mode and then we all have to wonder what's next. We need massive amounts of quick test kits and a vaccination or effective treatment to put this down. Hopefully Abbott Labs, Gilead, Janssen Pharma or any one of the other pharmaceutical giants or bio tech companies come up with something soon. Otherwise this will test all the world's resources and infrastructures and crush economies world-wide more than the damage already done.
Stay safe and best of luck to both you and Shrimpman as the noose loosens down there.

Fl hasn't hit its peak yet, that's why the jump in new cases, has nothing to do with opening the beaches. We are a week to 10 days behind NY/NJ. Once the novelty wears off I'm sure reality will set in and people will be more careful at the beach. The closing of boat ramps, marinas, beaches, state and national parks is ridiculous when compared to the potential exposure at Walmart, supermarkets and box stores. If those venues would be allowed to open, population density at beaches would lessen and more people would be employed.
