Probably a dumb ass question, but has anyone ever tried earth worms for saltwater fishing? My yard is loaded with them, there for the picking. I can buy lobster cheaper than blood worms!

I've used them back in the day for flounder and did quite well

YES.....to conserve bait we would put them on the chum pot hooks and caught some of if not the biggest flounder back in the day.....An OLD salt we called "Chum pot Charlie" from Brazicki's Tavern would laugh his ass off pulling up jumbo flatties on his chum pot. He knew all the tricks for anything you wanted to catch in Jersey waters.

I personally have not. I heard they fall apart real quick in the saltwater. I'm sure if it's all you have though, it'll get the job done.

Earth Worms/Night Crawlers Work Good, especially if blood or sandworms are hard to find !

They work especially floating. Not quite as good as bloods but a helluva lot cheaper. Have to change them up quicker because the salt water washes them out
