Just my two cents about some of the recent frustrations posted here which are understandable to a degree. But something to think about. We're all experiencing something we've never experienced before in our lifetime and God willing never will again. People are dying, the economic and financial ramifications of what's happening are going to be enormous and will be felt for a very long time. People like all of us are trying to get by, pay their bills, provide for our families and not self destruct in the process. Difficult times to say the least. Sites like NJF are even more therapeutic in times like these.
I come here to get away from reality as an extension of the sport I love. Made a lot of friends, probably pissed off as many with comments I've made or opinions I've shared. Nothing wrong with that as long as it's done respectfully. Gerry's committed a tremendous amount of capital and time developing this virtual fishing community. And like others, he's trying to make a living as we all are and support his family as are the many sponsors who support this site and use it to promote their businesses. Without them, there wouldn't be a NJF.
Site owners start sites not because they have an inordinate amount of free time on their hands, they're investments with financial risks. If it doesn't make sense financially it won't be around for long. So personally I wish Gerry the best monetizing what's he's worked hard developing, something everyone here enjoys and benefits from. If nothing else, he's earned and deserves our support whether some of the changes are fan favorites or not. I'll take NJF with a few minor inconveniences than the risk of it one day going dark. God forbid that day ever comes, we wouldn't have someplace to complain:)
Gerry......thanks for putting up with us / me all these years!
