I know this might be a stretch, but I'm looking for insight into a deep sea trip for my family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) while we are out for a wedding in late August.
Location: San Luis Obispo, Ca. (location of wedding/bed & breakfast)
Travel to port range: Morro Bay south to Santa Barbra
Charter/Party Boat: Party boat, my kids are under 13, but stay at the rail on any boat here in NJ waters. Charter isn't in the budget.

I have done the standard GOOGLE on the area and have a few bookmarks. I'm just hoping that someone in our NJfishing family has been out to the LEFT coast and could share any fishing experience they had in that area.

Thanks Brad

Best bet might be to check with the locals or hotel and see who they suggest

I fished with these guys out of Newport which looks to be a 2 hour ride from Santa Barbara https://www.daveyslocker.com/deep-sea-fishing/newport-beach/

It's a party boat and they have 1/2 and 3/4 trips and you have to reserve spots ahead of time. It was a "Rockfish" trip where you can catch a variety of stuff like Red snapper, ling cod, sheepshead and sculpin. We had a fair amount of action and would be a good trip for kids.
