Annual Trout Meeting

Just a brief reminder folks, the annual trout program meeting at Pequest is almost upon us. Sat. Feb 29, 10:00AM at the Pequest Trout Hatchery. This is the place, and this year especially it's the time to voice your thoughts and opinions on any and all aspects of the trout program in NJ. Everything from stocking allocations and locations to the WTS program to things like the brook trout enhancement program the Div enacted several years ago.

This year is the 3rd year of the regulations cycle so if any changes are going to be made this is the year we'll see them. Also, now is the time to make suggestions and recommendations for the Freshwater Fisheries staff to consider and possibly begin investigating as future changes to be enacted in 2023.

With any luck the weather will cooperate as well to allow for some stream time before and after the event. I hope to see many of you there!

Not to be confused with the open house:
Please note the Pequest Trout Hatchery Open House will not be held in 2020 and is postponed until further notice. The Division is currently developing plans for new events and outreach programs that will enable us to bring fish and wildlife education to more people and communities throughout New Jersey. In addition, the Pequest facility itself will be undergoing significant and critical maintenance work and upgrades soon that will affect use of the buildings and property for a considerable period of time.
