After bad weather trying to get out 2 times and then a charter trip canceled, it was about time to get out for tog with the season open! Our preseason trip was great and I even nailed a big PB, but we were ready for a cooler filling trip!
The day started out great but then an non-forecast wind picked up and even popped our anchor a few times. It was annoying but we kept re-positioning ourselves and started whacking some keepers.
Both jigs and bait rigs worked, but the jig started taking significantly more keepers for the last 1.5 hours or so. No monsters this time, but we had a two man boat limit by 11:30am of some mostly nice thick fish up to 20"
All fish were in 41 fow on the real sticky stuff and most keepers came on the 1.75oz camo jig. now just hoping for a few more trips before the boat gets pulled!
