My fiancé and her friend wanted to spend a few hours of the last day of summer on the beach, so I tagged along to do some fishing. Fished the incoming tide, got to the beach around 11:30. Tied on a gold stingnose minnow and caught a decent 2lb blue on my fourth cast. Water was a bit murky and the wind was blowing pretty strongly out of the south. I fished a bit of everything, even tried throwing some epoxys to see if the Pelagics were around but no luck. After peak high I noticed some peanut bunker showing up in the wash so I tied on a pearl white swim shad and started getting bites right away. Landed another decent blue but that was the end of the action. Nice few hours on the beach today, and I’ll be doing more nighttime surf fishing this week! Tight lines!

Thanks for the report. Nice to hear there's peanuts in the wash, I've been seeing some Mullet too. I'm hearing about a good school Bass run going on in eastern Long Island now and I'm hoping this Friday's super moon will get a night bite going. If not I would think when the mid October full moon passes it will be game on right through December. Good luck.

Brigantine surf was paved with snappers, only time it slowed down was dead low. Jetty was crowded but if you downsized your gear it was a blast. Small pieces of mullet on long shanked hooks did the trick. Had three fluke - 19" , 16", 17"..

Hey all! Fished the Ventnor beach Saturday for an hour or so around 5 pm. 2 small stripers on a 5” swim shad right in the wash. Gonna head down tomorrow and give it another shot! Tight lines!

I’ve got 2 years of payments left on my Civic so I’m quite a ways off from driving on the beach! Enjoy it man, I did it when I was younger with my father and uncle on IBSP and it is a memory I’ll never forget.

Not a ton of peanuts but definitely a few of them. Can’t wait for a great night bite!! Hopefully going down tomorrow.

Way down south from where I was! Glad to hear you got some bass. I got a decent one at night two weeks ago but nada last week. Hopefully I’ll get one this week!
