Saturday morning aboard the Down Deep Bull, we ran our last Fluke trip for the 2019 season with a big crowd of great new and returning guys. The ground swell of last few days hurt the fishing around these parts so the crew decided to change gears and proceeded to pound on Jumbo Porgies which were flying over the rails all around the boat. With other edibles mixed in, other out of season stuff returned to swim another day. The crew once again left heavy and happy with their bags of iced fillets, all done before the dock lines came tight without the wait. We still ended the Fluke season decking a beauty over 5 lbs. and our season ended without the donut. This fishing has settled in locally and will be nice to have along with our upcoming Striped Bass trips which begin this Monday. Be prepared, there are Bass around.
