Hoping someone can give a referral for an honest marine mechanic. I bought a used 86 Mercury 20HP two stroke engine which was in great condition and ran like a gem the first time I took it out. Now I have no spark to my coil. My friend who is an electrician tested it out and could not figure out why I am not getting spark (marine engines is not his specialty). I've tried a few mechanics and seems nobody wants to work on an engine that old. I live in Northern NJ so if someone knows of a reputable mechanic that won't raped me I would appreciate a referral. Thanks

Sharkey marine in Highlands, if it’s not too far. He’s my go to for my Honda 150 but he also brought an old merc 9.9 from the 90s back from the dead for me. Honest, reasonable guy and very very good at what he does

That was the first person I called and left a message but he has not returned my call yet

He is by us (sea tow) inside Bakers Marina at the end of Atlantic Street in the Highlands. A great guy and a very good mechanic.
