Fished the surf in Long Branch for awhile yesterday. Mostly a trip to relax with my lady, but always have to bring the rod along. Fished from 11-2, midday and right around dead low so i wasn't expecting much, but i wanted to test out my new Tsunami Shield 5000 (which works like a charm :D great buy for the price).

I casted metals around for a while and got a decent sized fluke to follow me all the way to my feet but he didn't commit. Tried bucktails with gulp after that but no dice. Switched back to metals but changed the retrieve up to see if there were any blues/bones/macks around but nothing there either.

Great day on the water regardless of the lack of action. Tight lines!

Cool report mang. Those fluke like to hang near the beach lip in places you'd never expect. Always fun to catch a surprise fluke on a metal.
