I tried fire tiger color, absolutely terrible. Most of them were deformed and a bit hollow inside.

For what it’s worth, I just spoke to a reliable source that all these new color gulps were not cured long enough because they wanted to rush them to market to start selling... and this was from a distributor.. of course in a court of law this is just here say so who knows

Yep,,,curing is the issue.
Just bake in the oven for 10 minutes at 250 degrees to finish the cure and toughen them up.

Split Shot, Eddie G got it right "The cost keeps rising". Years back, Gulp stayed on the hook. Was reasonably tuff. Funny, each year another "what's with the gulp thread starts". The faster it falls apart, the faster you have to buy more. They figured out how to make this stuff, they can go back to what it was, but then.,.,. sell less.;) They just need some competition.

What ever happened to the days when we would just tell the manufacturer, "Hey the quality of your product sucks and we aren't going to use it until you fix it!"
That isn't going to happen because everyone will not stand together and we are afraid the "other Guy" will have an advantage, so we continue to buy an inferior product for way to much money! While Berkeley execs. sit back and say, "Why didn't we think of this sooner?"

I see the quality of live killies and strips of squid have stayed the same, just saying.

Kevin, I thought about that before i posted but this stuff is really really bad & its the new colors only. the glow, white, pink shine etc... still isn't like the old stuff but ya can put on a hook.
Have a friend that is an Ambassador for Pure fishing. From what he tells me they are totally aware of the issue and are talks about going to the original formula that held up better. Maybe that is why Dicks had 2 for 5 dollars after rebate promo. Maybe want to get rid of all existing inventory before going back to original formula

Just called them and they said that they do not know of any issues and if you have a problem with it or if you think it is defective. stop using the product and ship back the unused portion of the gulp with the packaging, receipt and they will replace it. This is only good from 1 year of the product being purchased. If you want your money back go back to wherever you bought it from with unused portion bag and receipt.
Or go to the website to file a grievance or a complaint, you can also call , now my picture is @ Berkley along with the post office, water company , gas company verizon yaddda yaddda yadda ........
Turn around time for mailing it in is probably around 3+ weeks when its all said and done = you are screwed and the season will be over
Call em , write emails and let em know , make a stink , get on there twitter feed and let em know

Just cured another batch of the gulp red salmon 5 inch in my Traeger Smoker along with a piece of fresh salmon to infuse the real salmon flavor into the gulp....
If the fluke don't like em tomorrow at least I have some gulp salmon jerky to chew on... These babies will stay on the hook forever.....

All the people working for Berkley got one of these this year because the people in New Jersey spent so much money on Gulp.:)

Lot of fish caught on the initial main colors pearl / white, glow, pink shine and chartreuse. All these new colors coming out might make a difference on a given day just having the fish see something different or maybe matching the hatch better but to me if you have the primary colors in your arsenal you'll always have a good chance any day on the water. Haven't tested the new colors so can't comment on their effectiveness but based on everyone's comments sounds like quality inspection was on vacation the week they launched. Unfortunately it's all about money, money, money money.......MONEY!
For anyone who stocked up on the new stuff and don't feel like going through the process of returning something to consider which I've used effectively. Any I assume we're talking about grubs here, not swimming mullet. Usually what falls apart is the tail, the base stays on. If that's true with the new stuff, buy some other grubs with comparable tails and when the Gulp tail falls off, cut just above the tail of the new grubs leaving maybe an inch of the main body. Thread that on the hook with the gulp body still on the shank until both butt up against one another. If you want, also buy some of the gulp spray bottle juice and give it one shot for added scent. Not necessary but I've done it. You now have the scent of the gulp, the action and attraction of the twister tail and added scent. To the other thread regarding hook size, I always go with 8/0 or 9/0, a 14" fish will inhale it so believe everyone who has said that size is not only not too big it will give you more hooking power on large fish. Plus with the added hook gap, if you really want to load up you can put a strip on it with the grub and still have plenty of gap left. Can't do that with smaller sizes.
It's a shame a company like Berkeley has to sacrifice quality for margin but that's why the Executives all have Hampton style homes.
