Finally grew a pair and ventured outside today since the weather and seas were predicted to be cooperative. Cruised comfortably 3 miles out to the BLR parking lot and got hits almost immediately and consistently through each drift. Got 2 keeper seabass among several short fluke and sea robins. All were caught on wonder rigs with gulp and squid low and killies high. Then we went back inside and fished the very end of the outgoing near clam island where we got a couple more fluke. Lovely day out there today, was proud to share some of Jersey's beauty with a work buddy visiting from Texas where he usually fishes the gulf backwaters for reds and trout.

Thanks for the report. My buddy and I fished there on Thursday. It was tough fishing with no drift. We caught one short fluke, a ribbon fish, and a bunch of sea robbins. So we went inside and filled a cooler with tasty blow fish to save the day.

There was quite a bit of surface activity also. Saw something silvery with a distinctly forked tail leap clear of the water, wasn't sure if it was a blue or bonito. Then closer to the boat saw what I think was a Spanish mackerel with the slender body and yellowish upper half.
Didn't see the army tanks and wrecks that are supposed to be there, not sure if my electronics are detuned or the stuff is silted over.
