The Gambler's 1/2 day fluke trips have seen mostly good action. Although the keeper sized fluke are tricky to catch, there has been a good amount of short fluke. We have caught some bigger fluke, up to 6 or 7 lbs --just wish there were more of them. Sea bass, mackerel, bonito, sea robins and small, tasty bluefish are helping to fill the coolers on most trips. We have caught some cutlass fish (ribbonfish), too, a rare, interesting, unusual looking fish for our area. Some of them have been quite long. We are catching all these fish right on the fluke grounds. I suppose if someone was inclined to cast and retrieve a small jig during a trip, they would probably catch a good amount of mid-water speedsters.

Our night trips have been great this season. Still catching plenty of ling, small to large. Some sea bass have been in the mix, and anyone who wants to catch blues on the grounds can do that, too. The bluefish are of the small, tasty variety.

Hope to see you aboard soon!
