Jason and I fished a NS out of Pt. Pleasant today. Steamed @20 miles offshore. Took about 5 minutes on the first drift for the fish to show. First it was a mixture of cocktail blues and bonito-then it was all bonito. Not sure how long the first drift lasted but I’d guess close to 2 hours. By the end of that drift, we had close to 30 bonito on ice. Made two more drifts and continued to slay them (although by now we were in catch & release mode-unless the inhaled the lure-which some did). We each passed off our rods several times to those who were having trouble catching (mostly young kids). We each probably caught 50+ each (and either pulling the hooks or breaking off a few more). A few Spanish mackerel were boated (none by us). A hammered 017, a 7/8 ounce epoxy jig (color did not matter) and a 4” Tsunami split tail (again didn’t matter on color) all on #15 fluro carbon leader were the ticket.

I'm interested in specifically this type of trip. Is this a party boat? What does NS mean? An NS out of point pleasant?

Yes it was on a party boat.
NS means the boat is non sponsor (NS) of this site so naming it would not be proper etiquette.
You can PM and I’ll provide the name.

Thanks for reminding me, I have a few smaller Swedish Pimples (that I forgot about)-they would have been deadly.
