tried for fluke right by our swimming beach today, small bucktail and gulp minnow, squid imitation teaser, good action(over 10 landed) but no keepers. Biggest 16"
Repeat performance on Saturday, biggest a shade over 17"

Great report! Sounds like there's lots of them in the surf now. I didn't find any in Raritan bay yesterday.
We need more surf reports like this one, thanks for letting us know what's biting
Back at it today 7/25, slower day overall with NE winds and choppy surf. Still managed a decent catch of 16" and smaller fluke. Lots of bait around and in the early evening had some fun with blitzing cocktail blues. Also managed a schoolie striper. Donated about a half dozen or more gulp grub tails to the little demons today, beautiful day!
On a side note, the crabbing has been lights out, 2 bushels in the last 2 weeks, mainly on drop lines
Been consistently fishing the surf for fluke and whatever else will bite and the results have been steadily diminishing. What was once a nice large deeper water pocket has now disappeared into one large continuous sandbar
Going to need a good pounding surf one of these days to open up some holes again.
