Probably too late to find any decent inventory, but looking to get a pint or 3 of swimming mullet gulp for the August fluke season, it has to improve right?
What colors do people prefer and what size? I am assuming 5 or 6” on the jig and an inch smaller on the teaser? Jigging will be on the ocean side.
Thanks

The 5" mullet on a 1/2oz spro will catch any fluke it comes across...10" to 10lbs. White and Chart and occasionally they want pink. When the peanuts are running white on white gets it done 9/10 times, at least that's been my experience in RB.
The 6" mullet is no joke, thing is massive.

The hot color from last year, salmon red, has been very disappointing this year. They just aren’t touching it.

It's whatever color they want that day in the location your fishing. Pink last year was a great color for us. Lot of times when there's squid around pink / pink shine is the go to. Chartruese, white, nuclear chicken I would have an inventory of as well. Sometimes they want swimming mullet, sometimes grubs. It changes by the day. As far as the bucktail, go as light as possible while keeping touch with bottom and the more vertical you are the better your chances of hooking up and not getting snagged. Had a lot of fish last weekend on salmon red, problem like most are having is most we're shorts.

Not to throw a monkey wrench into your purchase, but the Gulp sand eels on the teaser have been working over most anything else I've dropped down. Probably 65-35 sand eel to ball jig head tipped with 6" Gulp grub (pink shine, salmon red, white glow).

Shhhhhhh. Don't tell anyone. Dick's Sporting Goods had a decent selection.

Salmon has been working well for me on a top teaser...chartreuse actually. Looks like an ugly melon disco ball!
6/0 - 7/0 even 8/0 hook under the teaser keeps the shorties away sometimes...lol.

I’ve been having good success this season with the 5” white GULP jerk shad on a teaser
