7/14.....Stayed local and bounced around all the shallow stuff with light rods and BT's 1 oz and under.
Life everywhere from the KC over to Belford flats, East side of Earle then down to the SR entrance. Little tough to set up with WNW breeze coming on but picked everywhere we went.
White Spros w/2"grubs put a beating on the shorties. Loads of 16" flatties, only 2 fish over 18" Only flatties caught and nothing else.
Hit Holmdel Park afterwards with the dog and family in tow....son bagged a few dink LMB on the same gulp grubs we caught the fluke on earlier in the day!

7/15....headed out to SHC and had perfect drifting conditions on the outgoing off to Scotland. Good pick with bait draggers pulling the ham and cheese catching better than BT"S. Again loads of 16-17 inchers, few biscuits in the mix.

Moved back the Knoll before heading in and couldnt believe the the life just SW of Roamer.....Cow Nose schools, Sturgeon free jumping and endless bunker

Had a mix of flatties, dogs, birds, first croaker of the year, and cocktails the had the fullest stomachs ive ever seen!

Not a banner 2 days but some decent action nonetheless. Thinking of hitting the Navi tomorrow afternoon?????

BTW...Used one of my buds St Croix Legend Glass rods.LGC72HM LOVED this thing for bouncing BT'S under 3 oz!

Nice weekend update, thanks Duff. Went out with Grateful Dad and Irish Angler Sat morning, same areas loaded with shorts, doggies, skates :(

Funny thing about Gulp! in freshwater - witnessed 2 Channel Catfish literally turn about-face in unison to gobble up chartreuse 4" grubs after they sniffed that Gulp! scent

Check the water temps in the Navi, since it’s a shallow river if the water gets too warm the fluke move out.

Personally, I only like fluking the Navesink from opening day to July 4th—but it can stay good longer.
