Hi guys, trying to plan couple days of vacation days for a Mahi Mahi trip off the hook. Generally when do they show up? How far off the hook, etc. On my bucket list, not getting any younger, lol.
Thank you in advance

I'm still looking for my first mahi, i could be wrong but i think later in the summer is the best time around here depending on water temps/currents and water color.

Water temps and bait will dictate their arrival as well as water quality. Theres some seriously warm stuff offshore. If pieces break off and they slide SSW theyll be within reach sooner rather than later. Popped 25-30 lb bull on my last canyon trip. :D

Thanks guys, I'll keep eyes/ears open on when I hear they are hitting. Maybe try to do a buddy boat or couple buddy boat trips?

As one other guy said its water clarity and temps but this year has been wierd we have been catching Bonita and Spanish Mackreal for the last 2 weeks, way ahead of normal timing and the water temp and clarity this year has been awesome inshore I think they will show up soon around the pots in the Mud Hole
