Buddy of mine has a 15 HP Mercury 4 stroke.

He ended up having to move it, and laid it on its side and the oil plunger ended up lodging out of the engine pouring a decent amount of oil into the engine.

How would one go about getting all the oil out, is their a way that we're not thinking other than soaking it up with rags.

Will this effect the engine in other ways

And is there something someone knows that I may be missing here or should know about.

Serious repies appreciated

By plunger are you talking about the oil dipstick? and where did the oil pour? Under the engine cowl and all over the powerhead?

If thats the case, mop up what you can with rags, then shoot some brake clean on the oily surfaces and dry with compressed air. The acetone in the brake clean will help evaporate the oily film. Just be careful, the brake clean will remove paint.

You want that oil off all rubber parts, it will deteriorate them over time.
