Heading down to LBI for the weekend, I will be getting there late tonight. In the past i usually go to the Light/Inlet and have done pretty well there, but would really like to try to catch a few in the surf this time.

I'm going to be throwing metals, plugs and bucktails, and if that doesn't work i'll be trying either clams or bunker chunks. Looks like a decent weekend with overcast skies and mild temps. Any tips for a surf-newbie? Tight lines fellas!

I'm no expert but I like the Northeast wind forecast. Bass like rough whitewater. I like to use a heavy needlefish lure in rough water at night. The bait and wait has been
the best option from what I've heard lately. Good luck let us know how you do.

Fished the beach for 3 hours yesterday during the incoming tide, right up to high tide, not a single touch. Went back out at night for awhile, nada then too. Ocean was kinda rough and the wind was really whipping, it was tough to get a cast to where I wanted it to go so I ended up fishing the closest trough. Didn’t see any birds working anything for miles, no signs of bait or predator fish. Beats being home though!

Good effort brother, it beats throwing beer kegs. Most surf caught Bass for me come from the beach lip.
