Mad gaffer striped bass report Tues. 5/14

We had an excellent day Striper fishing today. Today we had the pleasure again of having Dick Skinder, and his son Michael on a Charter , and we had nonstop action. Most of the fish were short, but just missed the mark and we did manage a couple of keepers to limit the boat out, we caught fish on very light tackle on clams in shallow water . We probably boated just over 40 fish, All but two of those fish were released, we had a nice bluefish and , we may have had a few other keepers but they were very close . After we saw that there was a good bite but they were mostly short fish , we flatten the barbs on the hooks so that the fish wouldn’t be too badly harmed . They all swam away really fast so I doubt whether we did any damage Tomorrow we start sea bass Fishing from our Shark River location, we still have plenty of spots available as we do throughout the week so Watch our open boat page When njFishingand and Facebook, all in all it was a good day
