Folks, there has been a change of plans. THE SEASON IS NOW OPEN AND WE WILL BE SAILING FOR STRIPERS AND BLUES THIS SATURDAY, APRIL, 6th, & SUNDAY, APRIL 7TH, FROM 7:30 A.M. – 2:30 P.M.
We heard there were fish in the area so we went out for an hour and a half today and limited out, along with throwing back some shorts. There were acres upon acres of fish out there. The stripers were breaking on top, there was plenty of bird life and it was a slaughter with the stripers! We will go out again this weekend, Saturday, April 6th & Sunday, April 7th, for some more. If they are still here, we will sail daily for them. I will keep you posted. I will also add some pictures as soon as I get them.
Sailing from 7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. for stripers and blues.
The Miss Belmar Princess is the largest, fastest and cleanest fishing boat in Belmar. With Miss Belmar's 3 engines and a total of 2,100 horsepower, she is the first boat to the fishing grounds every day and we guarantee it. No other boat comes close. Try us and you'll see why.

STRIPER SLAUGHTER TODAY! When I saw the initial post I was like really.... Then I saw the comments and thought to myself, I am glad I am not the only one that has a problem with the word SLAUGHTER.... It may draw customers, but it also brings undue attention from tree huggers. You would think that a guy whose livelihood depends on the fishery would have more common sense then to evoke memories of a time when countless 20lb to 40lb fish were taken with reckless abandon.... It was definitely before my time, but if hindsight is 20/20 we now know that all resources have a breaking point. Have to question whoever wrote the post and their level of intelligence.

Captain Alan jump started the season. the message is the bass are here!!! I suggest that all who are offended and don't like the message do not go fishing, stay home and spend the day with Roget and Webster. personally I like "bassacre" .

Calm down everyone! It was strictly a crew trip with only 5 or 6 people and they only caught and/or kept their legal limit. “Slaughter “ only means a lot of fish were caught but released for another day!

Yeah really, give the captain a break here.. Slaughter is an old colloquial term that MOST of have used when we had a day where it was stupid fishing with big numbers and big fish..
I have seen posters here with big smiles laying in piles of carcasses piled on decks, guys defending taking limits of big stripers day after day so they could ""feed family and friends", buckets with blood red water filled to the top with bottom species upside down , mouths agape, again with big smiles and a thumbs up for the camera..
No one got into those posters very much, and the captain does have to make a living, and wants customers to feel they have a chance to get in on some good fishing.. We're being hypocritical here..
How many of us can honestly say they never used the term "We slaughtered them today"? These guys have been in business for a long time, and have a good reputation. Is it right to smear them on the net because of a bit of a lapse in acceptable semantics?.. Too much PC around here.
I am not crazy about the S word myself, but to say I don't use it after a good day would be a filthy lie... the guy also helps pay for the site as well, which most of us do not...
Not sure how many believers we have here in this den of iniquity,
but here's something we should consider..
Matthew 7:5 KJV
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye;
and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

The internet has taught us many things, one being your entire life can change based on one word. As Bob mentioned, the term "slaughtered them" or "destroyed them" or "crushed them" has been used by us all and is just another way of saying we had a great day on the water. I'm sure the Captain meant no harm, check his posts for the last year if you wish and 95% of them don't use that terminology. Party boats have a tough enough time making a living as is, if someone wants to describe a great day fishing in their own terminology, accept it. If you find it offensive, a bit of tolerance and understanding goes a long way. If it becomes abusive or disruptive to the site, get Gerry or an administrator involved with a pm. False advertising is one thing, emotionally stating something is different which I believe was the case here.
Glad to hear bass are here and people can start wiping away winter's cobwebs. Think we all have a bit of cabin fever. People are crying for reports and when they're made they're crying about the caption........have to love the internet.

Wow really..... Someone uses the term slaughter and everyone's panties get in a bunch??
If you want to encourage or practice catch and release fine but don't jump all over someone because they happened to use the term "slaughter"
These are fishing boats and guess what they do.... THEY CATCH FISH!!
Fast forward a few months from now and there are pictures of Fluke laying on the deck and everyone seems OK with that... But put up a picture of a Striper on the deck and everyone looses their mind...
I'm a proponent of of catch and release, but I see nothing wrong with people who choose to keep their legal limit... It's a personal choice we each get to make and we should not be judging other people's choices.

I just wanted everyone to know trout season opened up in NJ. Unlike the extinct winter flounder and protected stripped bass there are plenty of the trout to go around. Just throwing out suggestions on better things to do with the cabin fever until we are all congratulating each other on the fine catch and release... UNBELIEVABLE...

I have been an avid reader of these boards for years especially when I bought my 1st boat and had to find the fish myself. It has always been a great educational resource. This is my FIRST post ever and I gotta say CHRIST some of you guys just seem to bitch and complain about anything and everything about a guy keepin a fish for dinner once in awhile!! Andy are you and your buddies all Vegan fisherman?? The winter lull can't end soon enough to get back to fun reports/reading!!

Jesus, when did people on this forum start to turn into a bunch of cry babies about everything. I don't post all that often, but I've been a member of this site for years, and can never remember so much whining over stupid stuff. We're really hijacking report posts over the words that are used in the title now? C'mon guys, I get it, its been a long winter, fishing regulators continue to not know their heads from their asses, but don't ruin this site with this trash.

before this board existed there were more party/charter boats in the marina. We used to have our own "Captain Slaughter" in Belmar. Captains don't have to be mad to use the word slaughter. do a google search and you find there are boats and operations of the same name worldwide.
