I didn't get down as early as I would have liked today. I'm fishing by the Metedeconk and there are some nice Flatties being caught. Not many it's a slow pick but it's a start.

That's not me. I caught the skunk again. The shorebound Flounder bite is very sparse from what I'm hearing from the local guys here.

Thanks for the report, Brewlugger, and thanks for starting the new thread.
The direction of your last thread did go in an important direction, and was an important one to understand about fish stocks, but many of us just wanted to hear if there is a bite going on yet. Thanks to all.........
Catch ém up, guys....Papa

No problem good luck to you if you go. On Saturday we we took the boat on a shakedown at Oyster Creek water temp was 56 but we only got harrassed by crabs. I casted a plug for bass and got no love. Today- Sunday I went back by the Metedeconk and struck out again, I didn't get a bite all weekend but I saw a guy in a boat get one. To sum it up I think it will be better in the next 2 to 3 weeks but it will be a small window and they will go.

Hey at least shores getting some love.
I was out there on Saturday on jon boat. We fished from 7 to 11 and only managed to land two around 9:30 not too far from that pier. Later we moved to Manasquan and got no love there. Bite was slow but for sure beats being at home running errands.
Looks like early morning bite that's where it was.
Might be up there this weekend again, good luck to all.

Just wanted to clarify something here. You were getting harassed by blue crabs this early in the season?!!!! Woww. I'm lucky if I can get a blue claw to take a dropline in June I feel like.

Not Blueclaws. They looked like Calicos but they were more orange colored. Maybe white leggers? Not sure exactly. But they were liking our Flounder baits for sure.
