Taylor ham & Panfish with a LM on ice! 3/11

After a fun filled weekend at Mt. Airy lodge with the wife I needed a day to relax just a little bit more. Hit the state park yesterday tondo some ice fishing. Recognized a face out there. It was the infamous Ice Badger. Great to finally meet you man. Good people for sure.

Anyway, the ice was about 7 inches total yesterday with the 3 inches of snow ice melting rapidly in the warm hot sun. It’s gona go quick so be careful if you try to venture out this weekend. Flags just weren’t flying and the jigging was off with the high pressure and bluebird skies. It was just ok with the Gills, Crappie and pencil Pickerel keeping me busy. Managed about 25 Gills, 4 Crappie keeping 3 for dinner, 4-5 Pickerel on tip ups and jigs. Just ok action in my opinion. Finally got a good LM on a tip up around 5 PM. Solid 3-3.5 lb. fish. Great day to be out weather wise and I’ve got a killer sunburn on my face to prove it, LOL!!! TIGHT LINEZ!!!!! FLAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!:D

yea man that day was tough for sure but we still were able to put some fish on the ice. indeed it was a pleasure to meet you in person eddie it is not every day that you meet a legend from njf.com, look forward to fishing with you on the cong in the future.:cool:
