This message was on a Chesapeake Bay Fishing Board and might not be a hoax:
The ASMFC has announced that the summer flounder is not overfished and will not make any changes for the next three years. Hallelujah
If it is not a hoax then it might be good news.

Still a little to early to tell but all indications appear to be pointed in the direction of status quo so same season as last year with 3 fish @ 18 inches...
Interesting thing here is although we got some liberalization in terms of increases of our quota (+40%) it was nullified on the recreational side based on them predicting higher catch estimates for us this year.

If they are so good at predicting how about some lottery numbers here?
Also something else related to predicting is weather. So how many days will be fishable this season? Since they base the season length and quota in fishable days how about giving us back some more fishing time for all of the un-fishishable weather days?
